Secretary (Sports Board)
Dr. Basant Kumar Bhinchhar is the University Sports Secretary and Assistant Professor in the Department of Livestock Production Management at Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner, Jaipur. He assumed the role of Sports Secretary on October 21, 2023. He has six years of teaching and extension experience in livestock production management.
A distinguished alumnus of leading agricultural institutions, Dr. Bhinchhar completed his B.Sc. at SKRAU, Bikaner, and earned both his Master’s and Ph.D. degrees from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. His research focuses on animal nutrition and livestock production management. He has a robust publication record with over 30 research papers in journals and more than 35 book chapters, popular articles, booklets, and manuals.
Dr. Bhinchhar actively participates in conferences and seminars related to livestock production management and is a member of several key animal science societies in India. He also oversees the Skill Development Centre in the Directorate of Extension Education. His accolades include the Young Scientist Award at GIAFAS 2021, the Best Poster Presentation at the National Conference cum 9th Rajasthan Science Congress 2022, and the Best Researcher Award from a reputed agricultural society. He has played a significant editorial role in university publications such as SKNAU: News and Views, Krishi Smarika, and University Annual Reports and has organized three orientation programs for newly appointed university staff as well as numerous training programs at the departmental level.
In addition to his professional achievements, Dr. Bhinchhar has excelled in state and national sports tournaments, particularly in volleyball, football, and shot put. In 2016, he served as the captain of the Banaras Hindu University sports team at the national level, guiding them to a successful performance. His team won five gold medals and three silver medals in various university sports events.
