KRISHI VIGYAN KENDRA, ARNIA-SRI MADHOPUR, DISTRICT-SIKAR
IDENTITY OF THE UNIT
Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Arnia-Sri Madhopur, Sikar-II, is a newly established KVK that was set up in February 2022, on a 20.00 hectare of land under the administrative control of Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner-Jaipur. It is located in Arniya village, within the Sri Madhopur tehsil of Sikar district in Rajasthan, India, the center is approximately 17 kilometers away from the sub-district headquarters at Sri Madhopur (Tehsildar Office) and about 70 kilometers from the district headquarters in Sikar.
As an institutional project of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), the KVK aims to demonstrate the practical applications of scientific and technological advancements in agricultural research and education, directly to farmers in their fields and rural areas. This is achieved through the expertise of a multidisciplinary team of subject matter specialists. The KVK continue works with the collaboration of state departments like, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Live stock and other government and non government organizations and directly associated with the farmers, agriculture extension personals.

MANDATE
Single Window Agricultural Knowledge, Resource and Capacity Development Centre (One stop solution)
AIMS AND OBJECTIVE
Assessment and demonstration of agricultural technologies on the farmers’ field for their application and feedback.
Capacity development through skilling and training of farmers, farm women, youth and extension functionaries.
Act as an information and knowledge centre for providing diagnostic and farm advisories to farmers and other stakeholders.
Production of quality seeds, planting materials and other technological inputs for availability to the farmers.
Develop convergence and partnership with agriculture related ongoing schemes and programs of different departments and organizations on national priorities.
Awareness creation and community mobilization on various issues related to agriculture & allied sectors through innovative extension activities including use of ICT and other media.
Considering the agro-climatic condition & inventorization of physical & human resources of the district, following thrust areas have been identified:
§ Enhancing productivity of pearl millet, green gram, cluster bean, cow pea during Kharif and wheat, barley, mustard, chick pea during Rabi.
§ Increasing the seed replacement rate through promoting seed production techniques.
§ Diversification of existing cropping system by promoting cultivation of vegetables and fruit plants such as ber, aonla, beal, acid lime.
§ Promotion of dry land farming technologies with emphasis on water harvesting.
§ Improvement in livestock production & productivity through better management practices.
§ Encourage the organic farming technology.
§ Upliftment of socio–economic status of downtrodden classes through vocational trainings.
§ Empowerment of women through drudgery reduction in agriculture and animal husbandry, improvement in the nutrition, health & hygiene by using improved agricultural implements.
§ Value addition of fruits and vegetables.
