Secretary (Cultural)
Dr. D. K. Gothwal is presently working as Professor and Head of Department of Genetics & Plant Breeding at SKN College of Agriculture, Jobner. He was born on 23rd March, 1969 at Sujangarh Distt: Churu (Rajasthan). He did his B.Sc. (Ag.), M.Sc. (Ag.) and Ph.D. in Plant Breeding & Genetics from RAU, Bikaner. He also cleared NET conducted by ICAR-ASRB, New Delhi in the year 1995. He joined the university on 13th May, 1996 He has a teaching experience of 22 years. He guided 11 M.Sc. and 05 Ph.D. students of Genetics and Plant Breeding as major advisor till date. He also acted as Project Incharge of ICAR- All India Coordinated Research Project on Spices at Jobner campus for about 04 years. He was associated in the development of varieties viz; fenugreek RMt- 354, fennel RF- 290 and RF- 289. He has specialization in breeding work on abiotic stress in different crops and involved in analysis of research data through biometrical genetic tools. He worked as Dean, College of Agriculture, Peethampuri (Neemka Thana, Sikar) from Jun., 2021 to Oct., 2022. He is also serving as University Head (GPB) and as Coordinator PG Examination Cell of SKNAU, Jobner. He has published about 40 research papers in the journals of national and international reputes. He visited Konkuk University, Seoul (South Korea) He is a member of Academic Council, committee of courses and Board of Studies.
He has been involved with music since childhood. He participated in many cultural competitions during his school and college days and got several prizes in singing competitions. He has been the Cultural Secretary at Jobner and Lalsot campuses for many years. He was involved in the core committee of preparation and recording of university “Kulgeet”. Presently he is working as Cultural Secretary of the university. Inter college cultural competitions and AGRIUNIFEST activities etc. are organized under his leadership.
