INTRODUCTION
College of Agriculture Kumher, was established on 24 th April, 2013 vide order no. F. 4(18) Agriculture-3/2013 Govt. of Rajasthan, under Swami Keshwanand Rajasthan Agricultural University (SKRAU) Bikaner. Presently COA Kumher is a constituent College of Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University (SKNAU) Jobner, established with the mandate to impart quality education for graduates in the discipline of Agriculture. Both B.Sc. (Hons) Agriculture degree programme and College of Agriculture Kumher has been Accredited by ICAR-Agricultural Education Division, Krishi Anusandhan Bhawan-II, Pusa, New Delhi vide., office order F. No. Edn.1/11/2021-EQR Dated: 28/02/2024. As per mandate of our university, all the three components i.e., teaching, research and extension units are working at the same campus, it makes this college unique in whole of the state. COA Kumher is situated between latitude 27.28 ᵒ North, longitude 77.39 ᵒ East with a height of 183 m above mean sea level in the agro-climatic Zone III-B (Flood prone eastern plain zone) of Rajasthan. The College is located adjacent to Maharaja Surajmal Brij University, thus make and ambient holistic surroundings for quality learning. The College campus have a captivating landscape with ample plantation. The College has state of art academic and administrative building with well-furnished smart class rooms, fully fledged library and laboratory facilities.
Location
The College is located at Bharatpur- Alwar State Highway (SH-14), nearby Bailara kalan village. It is around 15 km. from Bharatpur city and is 2 km from main road. The Bharatpur is well connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmadabad, Agra, Jaipur, Kota and other major cities of country with Rail & Road transportation facility to national highway No. 21 which connects Agra Jaipur Bikaner and rest part of country.

He started his professional carrier from ARSS Diggi under SKRAU-Bikaner in 1990 and he did remarkable work in farm modernization and developed irrigation water facilities which helped to enhance the quality seed production. Professor Dhaka is a well-known figure in the field of applied entomology and having more than 3 decades of experience in different capacities and has been appreciated by various recognitions.
Dr. Dhaka is also honored by many prestigious awards namely Sri Ram Purskar by The Fertilizer Association of India (FAI), New Delhi; Appreciation Certificate by Harit Kranti, National Agriculture News Paper, Jaipur; Appreciation Certificate: RAU, Bikaner; Krishi Vigyan Gaurav: Bhartia Krishi Anusandhan Samiti, Karnal. Professor Dhaka is also active member of several scientific societies like Entomological Society of India, Entomological Research Association and Society for Development Initiatives. Besides his contribution to the scientific fraternity professor Dhaka has published many Publications viz. Book, Book Chapters, Extension folders, Research papers, and popular articles in national and international repute journals. He has also attended national and international conferences, seminars, workshops, trainings and has been resource person at many occasions. Professor Dhaka has handled various positions i.e. Incharge at ARSS Diggi, Incharge Central library at RARI, Incharge sports, Convener and member of many committees, Subject Expert in Public Service Commission. Professor Dhaka is a research leader and having true zeal as sports person and following the principle “Healthy Body Has Healthy Mind”.

Admission Procedure:
- Admission to B.Sc. (Hons) Ag programme is done through JET examination conducted by one of the Agricultural Universities of Rajasthan advertised through notification.
- The minimum eligibility for a candidate to appear in this test is that the candidate must have passed 12th of the 10+2 (Academic) scheme of examination with Agriculture/ Biology/ Mathematics group of the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan or an Examination declared equivalent to it with prescribed percentage of marks mentioned in the admission notification.
- Admission on payment seats is given on the basis of the JET merit as supernumerary seat in the constitute college of the University.
- Admission on merit seats is given on the basis of merit of 10+2 without appearing in JET examination as supernumerary seat in the constitute college of the university.
- A candidate must have secured at least 50% marks in the aforesaid examinations (10+2). A relaxation of 5% marks would be allowed to candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non creamy layer)/SBC (Non creamy layer) category.
· The maximum age limit is 25 years.
· The candidate must be a bonafide resident of Rajasthan.

· The college has an intake capacity of 120 students.
Student READY (Rural and Entrepreneurship Awareness Development Yojana)
To reorient graduates of agriculture for ensuring and assuring employability and to develop entrepreneurs for emerging knowledge intensive agriculture, the component envisages the introduction of the program in all the agricultural universities as an essential prerequisite for the award of degree to ensure hands on experience and practical training. Five components are included with end to end approach in Student READY program, which are interactive and are conceptualized for building skills in project development and execution, decision-making, individual and team coordination, approach to problem solving, accounting, quality control, marketing and resolving conflicts:
- Experiential Learning/Hands on Training
- Skill Development Training
- Rural Agriculture Work Experience
- In Plant Training/ Industrial attachment

Achievements:
ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS: The college has a record of meritorious students, excelling in various state and national level examinations. The college students have shown their exploits by achieving good academic results and have been at the top level in the university ranking. Seventeen students from this college excelled in ICAR-JRF examinations and got admitted in different disciplines at reputed agricultural universities of the country.
Seed Production
From the inception, COA Kumher, Bharatpur has been actively involved in research encompassing seed production of nucleus, breeder and truthfully labeled seeds of clusterbean, urdbean, sesamum, gram, mustard and lentil under rainfed conditions. Stringent quality control measures are adopted at the farm to maintain the genetic purity of the seed stocks. Over the years the college farm have evolved as a center to nurture the young minds of the students, through practical hands on training in different aspects of crop production and farm management.

Facilities/Infrastructure:
The following facilities are available at the campus:
Class Room: The College has 4 smart Class rooms which are spacious, ventilated and well-furnished as per V Dean Committee recommendations.

Laboratory: College has a total of 11 fully equipped laboratories of different subjects namely Horticulture, Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Plant Breeding & Genetics, LPM, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Extension Education, Computer lab and Language lab for practical learning of the student.

Auditorium: The college has an Auditorium cum Examination Hall for organization of various events and examination with a dimension of 100 x 50 ft for examination purpose.The same also serves as an auditorium for events of the college. The hall has a seating capacity of 200 plus students and can be accommodated with ease.
Land: The College premises covers a total of 30 ha land. It is utilized for seed production programme of crops viz., mustard, gram, lentil, seed spices, crop cafeteria and scientific research. Efforts are being made to acquiring more land is underway.
Landscaping: COA Kumher, Bharatpur has overcome material and logistical constraints in landscaping the college premises by establishing a campus garden. College landscaping has proved its usefulness in experiential learning programs of our students. It has also created a positive and visceral relationship of COA Kumher, fraternity with the environment and foster young mind at our college with positivity and help in achieving behavioural and cultural aspects of campus environmental sustainability.

Administration block: College has an administration block, conference room, staff rooms for teaching and non-teaching staff, one student welfare office, a separate room for convenience of girl students, sports room and NCC room etc.
Guest House: A well-furnished guest house is also available at district headquarter Bharatpur adjacent to Saras Circle close to Ghana Bird Sanctuary (NH-21). It consists of 8 room attached with all the amenities. One conference/ training hall which facilitates officers to convene meeting and conduct farmers training, is also available. This guest house possesses a huge lawn with beautiful landscaping and parking facilities also.
Basic Amenities: Play Ground, Reading Room Canteen Facility and RO drinking water, lavatory facility separate for both boys and girls are available in the college.
Girls Hostel: The college has one girls hostel aims to provide a convenient and a comfortable stay for the girl’s students. The Hostel has a total number of 12 furnished rooms, one common room and mess facility. The rooms are allotted on sharing basis among two students. The girls’ hostel also satisfies the vital objective of ensuring safety of girls.
Library facilities: COA Kumher, Bharatpur has a well-furnished library, constituting myriad collection of books on different subjects along with availability of spacious reading rooms. At present 5290 books of different disciplines are available at the college library. Book bank facility also exists. The library also subscribes different magazines, regional and national newspapers. The college library maintains an update of library inventories to keep it at par with the pace of ever changing information and updates. It also maintains technical processing for better classification, cataloguing, indexing of the text books from time to time. Exuberant books related to competitive examinations of central and state government, banks, ICAR, IARI and agricultural universities etc. are also made available in the library.
Sports Facilities: The College has dedicated sports facilities for the students including Badminton Court, Volleyball ground, Table Tennis room etc.
NSS: The COA Kumher, Bharatpur foresees the active participation of undergraduate students in National Service Scheme (NSS), as per the mandate of Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Ministry of Human Resources Development, New Delhi. NSS develops a sense of responsibility among students through social services and realization of work. It helps to inculcate self-discipline and control of mind and body for making students a responsible citizen.
Extracurricular activities: The college believes in endorsement of professionalism and ethics among students by imparting value-based education for holistic development of the students. The college from its inception has regularly organized vivid student activities, for all-around development of the students.
Advisory system for students: Student advisory an integral part of UG programme in which about 25 students are allotted to a teacher. For this 7th period of every Friday has been earmarked for advisors specially to interact with the students, so that their academic as well as day to day problems may be tackled without any delay.
Preparation Pattern of JRF/Pre-PG Examination: College has a specific emphasis on preparation for JRF & Pre-PG examination. Each faculty member is being allotted students, who can consult them regarding subject matter. Special classes are also arranged for specific topics as and when required.
Practical Learning
maintains a dedicated farm of 7 Ha for students practical in kharif and rabi seasons, most of the farm operations are being carried out by the students in the farm. There is availability of all the essential equipment’s including tractor, trolley, harrow, cultivator, seed drill and tractor mounted sprayer along with availability of seed processing facility at the college premises. The college has well equipped Laboratories for different subjects for providing valuable practical exposure to our students.Achievements:
