Directorate, Students Welfare
The Directorate of Students’ Welfare was setup on 13th November 2013 as the nodal agency of Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner Jaipur (Rajasthan) with a challenge for initial establishment and accelerating pace of the University in this competitive world especially for the students’ welfare by concentrating on the following domains:- Strengthening of Carrier Development Center and Placement Cell of the University
- Development of online registration system module for students and linked with the University Website
- Workshop/Training programmes for the students to develop communication skills, personality development and body language improvement of students.
- Establishment of English Language Laboratory.
- Collaboration with industries for internship during RAWE and strengthening experiential learning and hands on training set-up.
- MOU with NARM, promising MNC’s and organized sectors for placementStart revenue generation activities through capacity building, consultancy and training to the students
- Coordination with SLO office, NSS, NCC, NSO schemes, Red Cross Society at university level and other constituent colleges
- Establishment of central sports complex, cultural center, moral education center, students counseling center etc.
- Coordinating work related to national level competitions, study abroad, full bright scholarship and other interaction with outside world for students
Dr. K. C. Sharma has joined on the post of Director Students’ Welfare. He has served as University Head, Department of Extension Education on 30.12.2023 at SKN College of Agriculture, Jobner (more than 4 years). He has also served as Dean, College of Agriculture, Navgaon (Alwar) for more than six months. Before 2013 Dr. Sharma has served in the Extension wing of the University for about 17 years in various KVK’s of the University like KVK, Jhalawar; KVK, Sawai Madhopur; KVK, Jaisalmer; KVK, Fatehpur Shekhawati; Directorate of Extension Education, Bikaner & Agricultural Research Station, Fatehpur-Shekhawati. Remaining at KVK’s Dr. Sharma was also involved in various extension activities like vocational trainings of farmers, farm women & rural youths, Organized Front Line Demonstrations and farm advisory services. During the KVK tenure Dr. Sharma also worked as Senior Scientist & Head at KVK, Sawai Madhopur for about 10 years. From April 2013 Dr. Sharma was fully involved in teaching of various UG, PG & Ph.D courses of the discipline of Extension Education at College of Agriculture Fatehpur-Shekhawati (for 2 years) & then at SKNCOA, Jobner. He also delivered his duties as member of Academic Council, Convener & member of several committees at College & University level. He guided 2 Ph.D students & 12 M.Sc. Students as Major Advisor & acted as a member in the Advisory committee of more than 35 students of M.Sc. & Ph.D. As a member of course committee for about 8 years he has contributed significantly to restructure & modify the course contents of almost all the courses in the discipline of Extension Education. He has published more than 50 Research Papers in NAAS rated journals of international & national repute, wrote 2 books, four books chapters & more than 200 popular extension articles in different magazines & newspaper of national repute. Dr. Sharma has delivered more than 55 radio talks at AIR, Sawai Madhopur, Churu, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Alwar & Jaipur stations along with 4 T.V. talks from Doordarshan, Jaipur. He has participated in 35 national & international seminar/workshops/conferences. Dr. Sharma remained Chief Editor of “Jobner Krishi” (a monthly farm newspaper of SKNAU) for more than three years. Dr. Sharma is life member of 8 societies of Extension Education discipline namely ISEE, New Delhi; GSEE, Ahmedabad; RSEE, Udaipur; SEE, Agra; Society of Krishi Vigyan, Ludhiana; Society of Mobilization, New Delhi; SEE, Coimbatore & MSEE, Pune. He was topper in M.Sc. Ag. in the Department of Extension Education. During the study time he participated in college Cricket team & Inter University Cultural Competitions & NSS Camps. |

Important Student Activities:
National Service Scheme (NSS)
“NOT ME, BUT YOU”
Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner has been launching its National Service Scheme Program through NSS Program Coordinator, SKNAU, Jobner
The students take part in NSS activities for two academic sessions (i.e., first and second year) and has to pass it satisfactorily as a requirement for undergraduate degree programme. NSS was allotted a credit hour of 2(0+2). A student enrolled in NSS course should put in at least 60 hours of social work in different activities in a semester other than five regular one-day camps in a year and one special camp for a duration of 7 days at any semester break period in two-years. Different activities will include orientation lectures and practical works. Activities directed by the Central and State Government have to be performed by all the volunteers of NSS as per directions.

- Special Camps are held annually by the Government of India and are usually located in a rural village.

National Cadet Corps (NCC)
“Unity & Discipline”
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is a youth development movement. It has enormous potential for nation building. The NCC provides opportunities to the youths of the country for their all-round development with a sense of Duty, Commitment, Dedication, Discipline and Moral Values so that they become able leaders and useful citizens. The NCC provides exposure to the cadets in a wide range of activities, with distinct emphasis on Social Services, Discipline and Adventure Trainings.

- B & C certificate courses: This type courses are organized by Directorate of NCC, Govt of India in which 2nd year and 3rd year students are enrolled and after passing theory as well as practical examination gets B & C certificates, respectively.
- Cadets prepared for taking part in ceremonial prades on 15th August and 26th January.
- Every year all cadets participates in annual training camps, army attachment camps and NIC camps as per vacancy allotment from Directorate of NCC.
- All the NCC cadets of this college participate in ceremonial prades on 15th August and 26th January every year.
- Cadets of this unit also participates in ‘Swachhta abhiyan, blood donation camps, International yoga day celebration programme and awareness rallies every year.
Online and offline classes are conducted on specialized/common topics as per schedule and directives of 1 Raj NCC Battalion:

Central Students Election
SKN Agricultural University Student Union elections were conducted year after year in a disciplined manner and conducted in all 13 constituent colleges. The Directorate is conducting the election of college bodies and central students union through CR, system and also supervising the
Students’ Union Activities to allow them to work in a democratic manner to solve the genuine problems of the students and to bridge the gap between the students and University administration through Central Students Union Advisor. In addition, each college has a students' union for which annual elections are held. Elections are usually held in August–September months each year and students fight elections with eagerness and great enthusiasm.

Orientation Programme
The orientation of newly admitted students of all the constituent colleges was conducted in September - December in the respective colleges. The newly admitted students of B Sc (Ag), M. Sc. and Ph. D. students were made aware of different college activities regarding the academic, cultural, Career Development Center, NCC, NSS, Games, Library, hostel facilities etc., different rules, regulations and other facilities available by the University.Games
SKN Agriculture University, Jobner organize Intercollegiate Sports Tournament and participate in All India Inter University Games and Sports Tournament every year. Inter collegiate Tournament are mostly organized in November - December, whereas 14 constituent colleges of SKNAU, Jobner were participated viz., SKN COA, Jobner, COA, Lalsot, Kumher, Navgaon, Fatehpur, Kotputli, Kishangarh Bas, Basedi, Peethampuri, Jhilai, Bhusawar, CODST, Jobner and SKNCABM, Jobner. All the events were included in this tournament like Kabaddi, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton and T.T. and all athletics activities like long jump, high jump, Races of 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, discus throw, javelin throw and shot put for both men and women separately. SKN Agriculture University, Jobner every year send a team of 40 students in All India Inter University Games and Sports Tournament. SKN Agriculture University Jobner always performed best in the tournament and showed their guts on the ground.Cultural

All the events were included in this tournament like Music (Light vocal solo song, Group Song, Patriotic Song), Group Dance, Theatre (Skit, Mime, One Act Play, Mono acting), Fine Arts (On the Spot painting, Collage, Cartooning, Poster Making, Rangoli, Clay Modelling) and Literary (Debate, Extempore, Elocution, Quiz) events. SKN Agriculture University, Jobner every year send a team of 22 students in All India Inter University Youth Festival. SKN Agriculture University always show the beauty of their talent.
