Dr. S.P. Singh is a distinguished academician and horticulture expert, currently serving as a Professor in the discipline of Horticulture at S.K.N Agriculture University, Jobner.
With deep specialization in Olericulture (vegetable science), Dr. Singh has devoted his professional life to teaching, research, and agricultural extension services aimed at strengthening sustainable horticulture practices and farmer capacity building.
Academic & Professional Journey
Dr. Singh began his career in 1997 as a Technical Assistant at A.R.S. Jalore, where he worked in farm management. His academic career progressed steadily through teaching and extension roles at Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Jalore, before joining S.K.N. College of Agriculture, Jobner in 2010.
Through consistent dedication, he rose through the ranks:

• Professor (since July 2020)
Over the years, he has contributed extensively to:
• Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students
• Guiding 20 M.Sc. and 5 Ph.D. scholars

Dr. Singh has made notable research contributions in vegetable crop improvement, including work on the refinement of the chilli variety RCh-1. He has also been involved in projects focused on building training infrastructure for scientists, students, and rural youth under national agricultural development initiatives.

• Establishment of model nurseries
• Development of orchards with fruit crops like lime, ber, aonla, bael, and karonda
• Plantation of approximately 80,000 trees to improve the university microclimate
• Creation of an ornamental nursery and a biodiversity park
