Chickpea Breeding

I, Dr. Omprakash am working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding at Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University. I completed my B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture from Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.), and obtained M.Sc. (Genetics and Plant Breeding) and Ph.D. (Genetics and Plant Breeding) from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (U.P.). I gained two years of research experience on maize during M.Sc. and three years of research experience on rice during Ph.D. Currently, I am associated with the All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) and has been working on chickpea and pearl millet since 2025. I am actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching since joining the university in 2018. I have published 18 research and review articles, 20 popular articles and one book chapter.
