Biography
Dr. H. P. Parewa was born on 9 March 1983. He completed his B.Sc. (Agriculture) from Rajasthan Agricultural University in 2005. He earned his M.Sc. (Ag.) in 2008 and Ph.D. in 2014 in Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry from Banaras Hindu University. During his doctoral studies, he was awarded the prestigious UGC Research Fellowship and Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship in 2009. Dr. Parewa began his professional career as a Field Officer with the Rubber Board, Government of India, where he worked on plantation development and extension activities. He later served as Student Welfare Officer at the College of Agricultural Engineering and Post Harvest Technology, Gangtok, Sikkim under Central Agricultural University, Imphal. Subsequently, he joined as Assistant Professor and later Associate Professor in Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry at various colleges under Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University and Agriculture University, Jodhpur. Presently, he is working as Associate Professor (Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry) at the College of Horticulture, Durgapura, Jaipur under Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner, Rajasthan. He has over 12 years of experience in teaching and research. Dr. Parewa is currently handling an ANRF-sponsored research project entitled “Production of Biochar from Different Agricultural Wastes, its Evaluation, Technology Dissemination and their Impact on Crop Species and Soil Health Enhancement” as Principal Investigator. In addition, he is serving as Co-Principal Investigator in three different externally funded projects supported by Rajasthan State Mines and Minerals Limited (RSMML), National Medicinal Plants Board (NMPB), and the Department of Science and Technology (DST). His research areas include Integrated Nutrient Management, Sustainable Agriculture, Organic Farming, Agricultural Waste Management, and Soil Health Management. Dr. Parewa has published more than 60 research papers, 12 book chapters, 35 popular articles, and authored/edited 6 books through national and international publishing houses. He has played a significant role in curriculum development as per the IV and V Dean’s Committee recommendations at Agriculture University, Jodhpur, and has prepared multiple practical manuals for undergraduate horticulture and agriculture students.
