Biography
Dr. Ram Kunwar is serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding at the College of Agriculture, Baseri (Dholpur), Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner. He obtained his Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and Genetics from SKNAU, Jobner, and qualified ASRB-NET. He is a recipient of the prestigious ICAR-SRF and ICAR National Talent Scholarship.
Dr. Kunwar has more than eight years of experience in teaching, research, and extension, with specialization in genetic improvement, varietal development, and stress tolerance breeding in seed spices and field crops. He has made significant contributions to the development and national release of improved fennel varieties RF-289 (Karan Saunf-1) and RF-290, and identification of coriander (RCr-565), fenugreek (RMt-259), and fennel (RF-231) varieties under the AICRP on Spices programme. He has published more than 25 research papers in reputed national and international journals and has served as Principal Investigator of externally funded projects, including establishment of a Herbal Park under RKVY.
He has successfully guided postgraduate students and actively contributes to teaching, research, and crop improvement programmes aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and sustainability in arid and semi-arid regions.
